KATÝ is the brand name of various textile products designed and made by Katrín Jóhannesdóttir. These are mostly knittet itemes, where Katrín seeks inspiration from the icelandic heritage, nature and saga.

The traditional Icelandic national costume is the inspiration for the latest collection of products from KATÝ. This collection is a graduation project from Textiluddanelsen in Viborg, Denmark. The icelandic costume is not a single garment, but rather a combination of units which allow for various combinations. The items in this collection can thus be combined in many ways.

Katrín´s hallmark are plain contours where the smallest of details bring out the perfection in simplicity.

About the designer:
Katrín Jóhannesdóttir is born in Iceland but has lived in Denmark for several years. She holds a bachelors degree in textile handcraft and education from Textiluddanelsen in Viborg, Denmark.
